PUBLIC MEETING TO BE HELD CONCERNING NEW COMMERCIAL JOINT UNDERWRITING ASSOCIATION

TALLAHASSEE (8/18/2006) � The first meeting of the Board of Governors of the Property and Casualty Joint Underwriting Association (PCJUA) is scheduled for next Friday, at 10:00 a.m., in Tallahassee. The meeting is open to the public and will be held to discuss the implementation of provisions of the Emergency Rule 69OER06-3 (rule).

The rule was approved by the governor and Cabinet last week, authorizing the activation of the PCJUA to provide relief to businesses having trouble securing coverage in the midst of this year�s hurricane season. Friday�s meeting will be the first step in implementing the rule allowing the activation of the PCJUA. A copy of the agenda can be found at www.floir.com. The meeting will be held 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 25th, at the Larson Building, 200 East Gaines Street, Room 116, Tallahassee.

If any person decides to appeal decisions made with respect to any matter considered at this meeting, they will need to provide a record of the proceedings which includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is based.
