PUBLIC HEARING SET FOR FLORIDA FARM BUREAU RATE FILING

Tallahassee – The Florida Office of Insurance Regulation has scheduled a public hearing for August 16 in Gainesville for input from the public concerning a rate filing by Florida Farm Bureau Casualty Insurance Company and Florida Farm Bureau General Insurance Company which requested a statewide average increase in homeowners insurance rates of 40.8 percent. The requested rates are not uniform and some areas are subject to higher or lower rate changes.

The hearing will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the Reitz Union, 2nd Floor Auditorium, Museum Road, University of Florida Campus in Gainesville.

Interested parties may speak at the hearings or may forward comments to ratehearings@fldfs.com until August 26. The subject line of the email should read “Florida Farm Bureau Filing.”
