BOARD OF GOVERNORS OF NEW JOINT UNDERWRITING ASSOCIATION TO HOLD CONTINUATION OF PREVIOUS MEETING
Tallahassee (August 28, 2006) The Board of Governors of the new Property and Casualty Joint Underwriting Association (PCJUA) will hold a continuation of its previous meeting on Friday, August 25 to discuss the final stages of activation of the PCJUA. The meeting will be open to the public.
The meeting will be held 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 30th, at the Larson Building, 200 East Gaines Street, Room 116, Tallahassee.
The Board met last Friday in Tallahassee to discuss the implementation of Emergency Rule 69OER06-3 (rule) establishing a PCJUA to meet some of the needs of businesses who cannot find wind-only coverage and to address reinsurance needs in the market.
The Board held discussions on organizational needs of the new PCJUA and appointed members into roles to oversee operations of the PCJUA. The Board is reviewing ICAT Specialty Insurance Companys proposal to write policies as early as the first week of September. These policies will provide up to $1 million in wind coverage for small businesses across the state.
Any persons needing special accommodations at this meeting because of a disability or physical impairment should contact Susan Dawson, Assistant General Counsel, Office of Insurance Regulation, (850) 413-4195 at least two days in advance of the meeting.
