House Insurance, Business & Financial Affairs Policy Committee Report: January 13

On Tuesday, January 13, 2009, the Florida House of Representatives’ Insurance Business & Financial Affairs Policy Committee (“Committee”) met and heard presentations on organizational structures from agencies that fall under its jurisdiction, which include:
- Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation
- Florida Department of Financial Services
- Florida Office of Financial Regulation
- Florida Office of Insurance Regulation (“OIR”)
The OIR’s presentation included overviews of: its mission; the Insurance Regulatory Trust Fund; past and current operating budgets; compliance and enforcement operations; executive direction; interactions with the Florida Financial Services Commission, Florida Department of Financial Services, and National Association of Insurance Commissioners.
No public testimony was given. The meeting was then adjourned.
