HB 661–Public Adjuster Bill Amended

The House Jobs and Entrepreneurship Council approved House Bill 661 relating to insurance adjusters today, April 15, 2008.

HB 661 was amended in the Council meeting by both the bill sponsor, Representative Julio Robaina, as well as the Council Chairman, Representative Ron Reagan.

Copies of the amendments to HB 661 are attached for your review.

The bill now includes, among other provisions, a requirement that public adjusters subject themselves to examinations under oath.

Chairman Reagan has promised further improvements to the bill, which is scheduled to be heard next by the House Policy and Budget Council.

The related SB/CS 1098 continues to move through the Senate, and is now in the Senate Criminal Justice Committee.
