FPCA: SCHIP Section 111 Mandatory Insurer Reporting Updates–April 10

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (“CMS”) posted updates to its Section 111 of the Medicare, Medicaid, and SCHIP Extension Act of 2007 (“SCHIP”) Web site. Recent updates include:
- Alert For Reporting Multiple Total Payment Obligation to the Claimant Amounts for Liability (Including Self-Insurance), No-Fault Insurance and Workers’ Compensation dated April 7. To view, click here.
- Comments or questions can now be submitted relative to Section 111, by accessing the document dated June 15, 2008 – MMSEA111 – Opportunity to Comment on CMS’ Plans For Implementing Section 111, located on the Overview section page. To view, click here.
The latest SCHIP updates are available on the CMS Web site, which may be viewed by clicking http://www.cms.hhs.gov/MandatoryInsRep/04_Whats_New.asp#TopOfPage.
Section 111 of the Medicare, Medicaid, and SCHIP Extension Act of 2007 (P.L. 110-173), adds new mandatory reporting requirements for group health plan arrangements and for liability insurance (including self-insurance), no-fault insurance, and workers’ compensation.
