FPCA: SCHIP Section 111 Mandatory Insurer Reporting Updates

Implementation of the SCHIP Act Mandatory Insurer Reporting Program is underway. Section 111 of the Medicare, Medicaid, and SCHIP Extension Act of 2007 (P.L. 110-173), adds new mandatory reporting requirements for group health plan arrangements and for liability insurance (including self-insurance), no-fault insurance, and workers’ compensation.
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (“CMS”) has posted updates to its web site regarding Section 111 of the Medicare, Medicaid, and SCHIP Extension Act of 2007. Some recent updates regarding liability insurance (including self-insurance), no-fault insurance, and workers’ compensation, including important documents and upcoming teleconference dates, are provided below for your reference.

- Compliance guidance regarding obtaining individual Health Insurance Claim Numbers (“HICN”) and/or Social Security Numbers (“SSN”)
