FPCA Members — Florida Governor Rick Scott: Florida Office of Insurance Regulation to Issue New Self-Certification Forms Order

Speaking today, November 30, 2012, at the Florida Chamber of Commerce Insurance Summit, Florida Governor Rick Scott announced that the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation will issue a new Order relating to an expedited form filing process for property and casualty forms.
The OIR previously issued an Order allowing for an expedited process; however, many insurers were hesitant to use the Order because of certain provisions relating to a certification process requirement.
Governor Scott announced that the new version of the order would clarify that the certification must attest that the form complies with Florida statutes and regulations, rather than all applicable “Florida law.”
