FPCA Homeowners Division: REVISED Comparative Analysis of Pending Property Insurance Legislation

Comprehensive property insurance legislation, CS/CS/SB 408 and HB 803, is pending in the 2011 Florida Legislature. A comparative analysis of both bills is attached for review.
On March 22, CS/CS/SB 408 passed the Senate Committee on Budget by a vote of 12 to 8. The bill is now in Rules, its final committee of reference, after which it will proceed to the full Senate.
Meanwhile, a Proposed Committee Substitute (“PCS”) was filed to HB 803 on April 1 and will be considered by the House Insurance and Banking Subcommittee on April 5.
