Please be advised that the Florida Department of Financial Services (“DFS”) is holding a rule development workshop at 9:30 a.m. Thursday morning, March 22, 2012, in Tallahasee, to discuss proposed changes to regulations governing public adjusters. The notice regarding the workshop states that the proposed rule changes “update the code of ethics for all adjusters, delete provisions that reiterate or paraphrase statutory material, and clarify the responsibilities and requirements of all adjusters.” The proposed changes encompass a wide range of material, including solicitation and advertising by public adjusters, referrals, public adjuster contracts, and claims handling. A copy of the proposed rule changes are attached for your review.
