FPCA Automobile Division Seeks Comments on Proposed Legislation

FPCA Automobile Division Members:
As discussed at the planning meeting yesterday, we are seeking comments on proposed legislation for the Florida 2011 Regular Legislative Session. Attached are the following documents:
- Proposed revisions to the PIP statute.
- The workers’ compensation-style draft legislative proposal to cap attorney fees.
- The “may vs. shall” proposals.
- Proposed bad faith legislation.
Please provide any comments, suggestions and/or edits to Katie Webb (kwebb@cftlaw.com) by Friday, December 10, 2010. Also, please indicate your preference for one of the following: (1) the “stair step” approach to attorney fees set forth in the proposed revisions to the PIP statute; (2) the workers’ compensation-style attorney fee cap; (3) an absolute cap on attorney fees; or (4) a combination of (1) or (2) and an absolute cap.
