FPCA Automobile Division: Language Prohibiting Use of a Contingency Fee Multiplier in PIP Litigation Removed from Conforming Bill
May 5, 2011
Florida Property and Casualty Association Automobile Division Members:
At a budget conference meeting today, May 5, 2011, the Florida Senate rescinded its offer to include a provision in the criminal justice conforming bill that would have prohibited the use of a contingency fee multiplier in PIP litigation.
The House accepted the Senate’s rescinded offer and the use of a contingency fee multiplier in PIP litigation will not be prohibited.
