Former Assistant State Attorney Karina Iñigo joins Colodny Fass Litigation Division

The law and governmental consulting firm of Colodny Fass has added former Assistant State Attorney Karina Iñigo as an Associate in its Insurance Litigation Division.
Experienced in litigating and defending first and third-party insurance matters in county, circuit and federal courts, Ms. Iñigo serves as general counsel for one of the Firm’s many property and casualty insurance clients.
In her most recent position, she represented homeowners and commercial liability carriers, and third-party administrators in litigation and cases involving claims handling. She is also experienced in negotiating strategic settlements and handling alternative dispute resolutions.
As a former Assistant State Attorney for the 17th Judicial Circuit, Ms. Iñigo handled all aspects of litigation, participating in both jury and non-jury trials. In this role, she managed a substantial caseload, and appeared at arraignments, calendar calls, changes of pleas, restitution hearings and violations of probation. Ms. Iñigo made decisions on what charges to file in accordance with Florida Statutes, and conducted research to prepare arguments and responses to motions.
A member of the Florida Bar, she is admitted to practice in all Florida courts, as well as the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
Ms. Iñigo earned her Juris Doctor from St. Thomas University School of Law, where she graduated cum laude in the top 10 percent of her class. She also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Social and Behavioral Sciences from The Ohio State University.
She is fluent in Spanish.
