Florida’s FCCI Names Executives for Texas, Maryland Expansion
FCCI Insurance Group has announced it is expanding its commercial insurance offerings into Maryland and Texas.
The company has named several executives to serve in a new home office that will oversee operations in those states.
In January the Sarasota, Fla.-based FCCI began writing commercial property/casualty policies in Maryland and Texas. The insurer has also applied for licenses in Louisiana and Arkansas, which if granted would bring to 18 the number of states the insurer is operating in.
The new position of senior vice president for business development and strategic initiatives will be filled by Rick Rueger, who had been serving as FCCI’s senior vice president for the southeast region.
Bill Speaker will serve as the insurer’s new senior vice president for home office underwriting.
Current FCCI Vice President Warren Edwards will assume the position of senior vice president for the Florida region.
In addition to those new officers, FCCI has hired Jim Harms to fill the new position of regional vice president for Texas. Most recently, Harms was a vice president on CNA’s Dallas office.
Chris Piela has been tapped to serve as senior vice president for the southeast region. Piela comes from Montgomery Insurance, a Liberty Mutual company.
FCCI said it has 17,000 policyholders and in addition to Sarasota has offices in Duluth, Ga., Carmel, Ind. and Ridgeland, Miss. It also has a branch office in Lake Mary, Fla.
