RE: Session Schedule

In order to advance our important legislative business and to assist you in planning for the 60-day regular session, I would like to share with you an overview of the anticipated 9-week session calendar.

– During weeks 1-4 (March 1-26), House Committees will complete their consideration of legislation;

– During week 5 in between Passover and Easter (March 29 – April 2), we will consider the GAA and implementing and conforming bills on the House floor.  Plan for a short, but busy week.  We are tentatively planning to have Second Reading of the House GAA and any conforming and implementing bills on Wednesday, March 31, 2010, and Third Reading completed on those bills on Thursday, April 1, 2010;

– During weeks 6 and 7 (April 5-16), House Councils will complete their consideration of legislation; and

– During week 9, the conference report on the GAA will be delivered no later than Tuesday, April 27th in time for a final vote and sine die on Friday, April 30th.

I hope this overview assists you in having a productive and successful session.  As always, the schedule is subject to change; you should refer to the published weekly schedule for the most current information.  Please feel free to call my office if you have any questions.
