Florida Office of Insurance Regulation Schedules June 6 Hearing On Insurer Application Procedures Proposed Rules

The Florida Office of Insurance Regulation has scheduled a June 6, 2017 proposed Rule hearing on regulations contained in Chapter 690-136, F.A.C. entitled “Application Procedures for Companies Seeking to Do Business in Florida.”
A new Rule, 69O-136.005 relating to Captive Insurers, is also proposed.
The revisions are intended to streamline the application process for risk-bearing entities subject to the Florida Insurance Code, update forms to reflect current practice, and to reflect that applications are made via the electronic filing process on the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation Web site.
With regulators’ approval, the June 6 hearing will be held if requested in writing by a member of the public.
