Oct 18, 2010
The following news release was published on October 18, 2010 by the National Association of Insurance Commissioners:
The National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) today awarded its Esprit de Corps Award to the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation.
Florida Insurance Commissioner Kevin McCarty accepted the award with members of his staff, which was presented by Jane L. Cline, NAIC President and West Virginia Insurance Commissioner, at the NAIC Fall National meeting in Orlando, FL.
“The Florida Office of Insurance Regulation continues to distinguish itself in the U.S. and abroad,” said Cline. “Commissioner McCarty and his staff have been at the forefront of international insurance supervision and it is my pleasure to honor them here today.”
The award was given to the Florida department for their promotion of effective insurance supervision at the IAIS and Joint Forum and leadership in responding to the IMF Financial Stability Assessment of U.S. insurance supervision.
Established in 2006, the Esprit de Corps Award recognizes outstanding service to the NAIC by an insurance department. The name of the award was chosen because Esprit de Corps is defined as “a common spirit of comradeship, enthusiasm and devotion to a cause among the members of a group.”
