Florida Office of Insurance Regulation PIP Claim Data Call Opens January 18

Jan 13, 2011

The Florida Office of Insurance Regulation (“OIR”) has advised that it is conducting an examination of Personal Injury Protection (“PIP”) claims of certain insurers pursuant to Section 624.316, Florida Statutes.

The data call will be opened on January 18, 2011, with all information due by February 22, 2011.

According to the OIR, there are 25 required filers for this data call.  However, the data call is available to any PIP writer that wants to participate.  Insurers that would like to voluntarily participate in the data call are asked to contact the OIR in advance at specialdatacall@floir.com.

Information should be submitted via the OIR’s Industry Portal using the Data Collection and Analysis Modules (“DCAM”) application.  The direct website link for this application is https://apps.fldfs.com/DCAM/Logon.aspx.

A copy of the required data reporting template is attached.  However, the official data reporting template must be downloaded from within DCAM.  The OIR also has advised that the person who downloads the template within DCAM must be the person who submits the filing.

Questions about the OIR’s request should be directed to specialdatacall@floir.com.
