Florida Insurance Commissioner Selected Regulator of the Year by LexisNexis Insurance Law Center
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida Insurance Commissioner Kevin McCarty has been selected as the Regulator of the Year by the LexisNexis Insurance Law Center’s (ILC) Advisory Board Person of the Year Awards for 2008. According to the ILC, nearly 50 nominations were received for its four award categories: Regulator of the Year, Policyholder Attorney of the Year, Insurer Attorney of the Year and Insurance Jurist of the Year.
“Based upon the large number of comments received from community participants in support of Commissioner McCarty’s nomination and the strong support for his candidacy expressed by the regulatory community, the Board concludes that Kevin McCarty is the international, federal, state, or local regulator who had most impact during 2008,” the ILC said in its announcement.
