Tuesday, October 14

  • Florida Office of Insurance Regulation Public Rate Hearing:  National Council on Compensation Insurance (“NCCI”); 9:00 a.m.  Tallahassee, Florida.  NCCI has proposed a statewide average decrease of 2.5 percent.  For a summary of the NCCI filing, click here.   

Wednesday, October 15

  • Florida Board of Employee Leasing Companies Board meeting.  Additional information is forthcoming.

Thursday, October 16

  • Florida Division of Workers’ Compensation (“DWC”) Proposed Rule Hearing; 9:00 a.m.  Tallahassee, Florida.  Proposed repeal of 69L-6.026, “Periodic Reports,” which requires employers issued Stop Work Orders with an assessed penalty exceeding $50,000 to file quarterly compliance reports with the DWC.  The statutory language has been repealed and the Rule is now unnecessary.  To view the hearing notice, click here.
  • DWC Rule Development Workshop; 9:30 a.m.  Tallahassee, Florida.  Proposed Rule 69L-6.029, “Employer Worksites,” would implement Chapter 2014-109, Laws of Florida, which amended s.440.107, F.S.  Under this provision of Chapter 2014-109, an employer will now have 10 business days instead of five to produce business records following a written request from the Florida Department of Financial Services, or be subject to a Stop Work Order.  To view the workshop notice, click here.
