- For final adoption:
- Proposed amendments to Rule 69O-166.031, “Mediation of Property Insurance Claims,” would cross reference Florida Department of Financial Services’ Rule 69J-166.031, which comprehensively addresses mediation of residential and commercial property insurance claims. Whereas the two rules used to be identical, the DFS rule changed. Amendments to the OIR rule also would maintain the penalty for an insurer’s failure to appear at the mediation conference.

- 1:00 p.m.–Florida Division of Insurance Agents and Agency Services Rule Development Workshop. Tallahassee, Florida. Proposed amendments would update the continuing education rules in Chapter 69B-228, pertaining to requirements and standards for all continuing education courses, providers of continuing education courses, school officials, instructors, supervising instructors, and licensees under Chapters 626 and 648, F.S. - 9:00 a.m.–Florida Office of Insurance Regulation Public Rate Hearing: National Council on Compensation Insurance (“NCCI”). Tallahassee, Florida. The NCCI has requested an overall average decrease in rate levels of 1.9% for the voluntary market for all new and renewal workers’ compensation insurance policies written in the State of Florida, effective January 1, 2016. The filing also includes a decrease to the expense constant from $200 to $160 which, when combined with the rate level decrease, would result in an overall average premium decrease of 2.2%.
