Tuesday, October 14

• Florida Office of Insurance Regulation Public Rate Hearing:  National Council on Compensation Insurance (“NCCI”); 9:00 a.m.  Tallahassee, Florida.  NCCI has proposed a statewide average decrease of 2.5 percent.  For a summary of the NCCI filing, click here.   
• Florida Hurricane Catastrophe Fund Advisory Council meeting; 1:30 p.m.  Discussion of October 2014 claims-paying capacity estimates.  To view the agenda, click here.

Wednesday, October 15

• Florida Board of Employee Leasing Companies Board meeting; 10:00 a.m.  Teleconference:  (888) 370-6525; conference code:  2295006118#.  To view the agenda, click here.

Thursday, October 16

• Florida Division of Workers’ Compensation (“DWC”) Proposed Rule Hearing; 9:00 a.m.  Tallahassee, Florida.  Repeal is proposed for Rule 69L-6.026, entitled “Periodic Reports,” which requires employers issued Stop Work Orders with an assessed penalty exceeding $50,000 to file quarterly compliance reports with the DWC.  Since the law has been repealed, the Rule is now unnecessary.  To view the hearing notice, click here.
• DWC Rule Development Workshop; 9:30 a.m.  Tallahassee, Florida.  Proposed Rule 69L-6.029, “Employer Worksites,” would implement Chapter 2014-109, Laws of Florida, which amended s. 440.107, F.S.  Under the new law, an employer now has 10 business days instead of five to produce business records following a written request from the Florida Department of Financial Services, or be subject to a Stop Work Order.  To view the Workshop notice, click here.

• Florida Hurricane Catastrophe Fund (“FHCF”) Proposed Rule Hearing; 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.  Tallahassee, Florida.  Proposed amendments to Rule 19-8.010, “Reimbursement Contract,” would adopt the 2015-2016 FHCF Contract Year Reimbursement Contract, including Addenda and an Optional Amendment.  In addition, obsolete material would be removed.  To view the Hearing notice, click here.
