Tuesday, March 12

• Florida Workers’ Compensation Insurance Guaranty Association (“FWCIGA”) Audit Committee meeting; 2:00 p.m. Tallahassee, Florida.  To view the meeting notice, click here.

Wednesday, March 13

• Florida Division of Insurance Agents and Agency Services Proposed Rule Hearing; 2:00 p.m.  Proposed amendments to Rules 69B-228.180, “Forms,” and Rule 69B-228.220, “Licensee Compliance; Requirements; Penalties for Non-Compliance,” would implement changes made to s.626.2815, F.S.  Effective October 1, 2014, licensees will be required to complete a five-hour update course every two years specific to the license held.  The course will cover insurance law updates, premium discounts, ethics, disciplinary trends, industry trends and suitability of insurance products. This will affect licensees who began their continuing education cycle on November 1, 2012, and are scheduled to complete the cycle in October 2014.  To view the hearing notice, click here.

Thursday, March 14

• Florida Office of Insurance Regulation (“OIR”) Rule Development Workshop; 1:30 p.m.  The current version of Rule 69O-186.013, “Title Insurance Statistical Gathering,” implements s. 627.782, F.S. by listing the types of information that shall be submitted to the OIR by title insurance agencies and insurers for the purpose of analyzing premium and retention rates, and the condition of the title insurance industry.  Proposed amendments would replace it with new language that adopts Form OIR-EO-2087.  To view the Workshop notice, click here.

Tuesday, April 2

• Florida Division of Workers’ Compensation (“DWC”) Proposed Rule Hearing; 10:30 a.m.  Proposed repeal of Rule 69L-10.0165, “On-site Audit Criteria,” because it offers no practical application.  The Rule provides guidance relating to the on-site audit of entities making claims for reimbursement against the Special Disability Trust Fund. The DWC continually audits such claims in-house in a process that ensures there is no reimbursement of claims without sufficient documentation.  To view the hearing notice, click here.
