Monday, February 27

  • Florida Office of Insurance Regulation (“OIR”) Proposed Rule Hearing; 9:30 a.m.  Proposed amendments to Rules 69O-200.004,.005,.006,.009,.014,.015 would incorporate a new category of Motor Vehicle Service Agreement Companies called “Motor Vehicle Manufacturers.”  To view the hearing notice, click here.
  • OIR Proposed Rule Hearing; 10:30 a.m.  Due to its irrelevance, repeal of 69O-170 Part IV pertaining to the arbitration of rate filings is proposed.  Under recent changes to Section 627.062(6), F.S., the provision for arbitration was removed.  To view the hearing notice, click here.

    • State Board of Administration agenda
      • Authorize the Florida Hurricane Catastrophe Fund to file a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking for Rule 19-8.029, F.A.C., “Insurer Reporting Requirements,” and Rule 19-8.030, F.A.C., “Insurer Responsibilities,” and to authorize filing these two rules for adoption if no member of the public timely requests a rule hearing.
  • OIR Proposed Rule Hearing; 9:30 a.m. Rule 69O-162.203: Adoption of 2001 Commissioners Standard Ordinary Preferred Mortality Tables for Determining Reserve Liabilities for Ordinary Life Insurance.  Rule amendments would incorporate changes made to the National Association of Insurance Commissioners’ Model Regulation, explain the conditions for use of the preferred class structure mortality tables and permit use of the mortality tables for policies issued prior to the adoption date of the original Rule.  To view the hearing notice, click here.

Wednesday, March 7

  • OIR Public Rate Hearing:  State Farm Florida Insurance Company; 9:30 a.m.  State Farm Florida has requested a 42 percent overall rate increase for its manufactured home line of coverage.  The proposed rate increase would be effective April 1, 2012, for new business and June 1, 2012, for renewal business.  The requested rate increase is not uniform, and some areas would be subject to a higher rate increase.  To view the hearing notice, click here.

  • Florida Division of Insurance Agents and Agency Services (“IAAS”) Rule Development Workshop; 9:30 a.m.  Proposed amendments to Rule 69B-211.004, entitled “Appointment Renewal Process,” would provide clear and concise information to appointing entities of the appointment renewal process and the fees for noncompliance with the law.  To view the hearing notice, click here.

    • 69B-220.051:  Conduct of Public Adjusters and Public Adjuster Apprentices
      • Proposed amendments would clarify the responsibilities and requirements of public adjusters and public adjuster apprentices, specify the terms and conditions of contracts, require the license number on advertisements and prescribe practices to ensure fair dealing between public adjusters and claimants.
    • 69B-220.201: Ethical Requirements for All Adjusters
      • Proposed amendments would update the code of ethics for all adjusters, delete provisions that reiterate or paraphrase statutory material and clarify the responsibilities and requirements of all adjusters.
