      Tuesday, April 30

      • Florida Division of Insurance Agents and Agency Services (“IAAS”) Rule Development Workshop; 10:00 a.m.  Proposed amendments to Rule 69B-231.150, “Criminal Proceedings,” relating to administrative actions against insurance licensees, would conform the Rule to changes already made to Rule 69B-211.042.  The changes would also clarify definitions of “felony” and “revocation.”  Also, the word “immediate” would be removed to better reflect the administrative process requirements that exist.  A subsection would be deleted to remove standards that are conflicting with statutory changes and replaced with a new subsection to conform the penalty scheme with s.626.207, F.S. and Rule 69B-211.042.  To view the Workshop notice, click here.

      • IAAS Proposed Rule Hearing; 10:30 a.m.  To view the hearing notice, click here.  Proposed changes would update the following Rules and incorporate legislative changes to Part VI of Ch. 626, F.S.:
        • Proposed amendments to Rule 69B-220.051, “Conduct of Public Adjusters,” would clarify the responsibilities and requirements of public adjusters and public adjuster apprentices, define the terms “direct supervision” and “adjusting services,” specify the terms and conditions of public adjuster contracts, require the license number on advertisements, delete provisions that reiterate or paraphrase statutory materials and prescribe practices to ensure fair dealing between public adjusters and claimants.
        • Proposed changes to Rule 69B-220.201, “Ethical Requirements,” would update the code of ethics for all adjusters, delete provisions that reiterate or paraphrase statutory materials, and clarify the responsibilities and requirements of all adjusters.

            • Proposed amendments to Rule 69O-149.003, “Rate Filing Procedures,” relating to life and health insurers, delete the Maximum Annual Medical Trend tables from the text of the Rule, provide the URL of the OIR’s Web site on which the tables will be published and updated as needed, and limit the use of streamlined rate increase filings to Medicare Supplement providers with fewer than 1,000 policyholders nationwide, rather than to 1,000 policyholders in Florida.
