Florida House Speaker Richard Corcoran Announces 2018 Leadership Team, Committee Chairmen

Florida House of Representatives Speaker Richard Corcoran announced his 2018 Leadership Team and Committee Chairmen today, July 25, 2017.
Listed below, these appointees will serve for interim committee weeks and the 2018 Legislative Session:
Speaker Pro Tempore: Representative Jeanette Nuñez
Majority Leader: Representative Ray Rodrigues
Majority Whip: Representative Dane Eagle
Rules & Policy Committee: Representative Jose Oliva–Chair
Appropriations Committee: Representative Carlos Trujillo–Chair
Commerce Committee: Representative Jim Boyd–Chair
Education Committee: Representative Mike Bileca–Chair
Government Accountability Committee: Representative Matt Caldwell–Chair
Health & Human Services Committee: Representative Travis Cummings–Chair
Judiciary Committee: Representative Chris Sprowls–Chair
Public Integrity & Ethics Committee: Representative Larry Metz–Chair
Ways & Means Committee: Representative Paul Renner–Chair
Speaker Corcoran noted that updated committee assignments will be made within the next few weeks, and asked legislators who are interested in serving as a subcommittee chair or on a particular committee to speak with the chair of the full committee with jurisdiction over the subcommittee. As the House did last year, subcommittee chair appointments will be made in collaboration with the full committee chairs, he added.
