Florida House of Representatives’ 2012 Interim Committee Week Schedule Announced

Today, June 2, 2011, the Office of Florida House Speaker Dean Cannon announced the House of Representatives’ Interim Committee meeting schedule for the 2012 Legislative Session.
The meetings will take place during the weeks of:
- September 19, 2011
- October 3, 2011
- October 17, 2011
- October 31, 2011
- November 14, 2011
- December 5, 2011
These dates coincide with the Florida Senate’s Interim Committee weeks.
Speaker Cannon indicated that, during these weeks, the bulk of House business will be scheduled between Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Normally, Florida’s Regular Legislative Session starts on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in March for a period not to exceed 60 calendar days. Next year, in order to provide time for enactment and judicial review of redistricting plans before the 2012 elections, Florida’s Regular 2012 Legislative Session will begin on January 10 and conclude on March 9.
