Florida House and Senate Insurance Committees Meet Tomorrow, January 10, 2018

Jan 9, 2018

The Florida Senate Committee on Banking and Insurance, and the Florida House of Representatives’ Insurance & Banking Subcommittee both meet tomorrow, January 10, 2018.

A Personal Injury Protection/No-Fault insurance repeal bill and a proposal designed to curtail assignment of benefits abuses involving motor vehicle windshield glass top the Senate Committee’s agenda.  In the House, a flood insurance disclosure legislation is on the agenda, along with another bill that would address the Unfair Insurance Trade Practices Act by allowing an insurer to condition the sale of insurance on the purchase of motor vehicle services if such services are purchased from a membership organization affiliated with the insurer, and the affiliated membership organization has maintained one million members in Florida continuously since January 1, 2018.

Both meetings will be webcast live on www.TheFloridaChannel.org (or access through the Senate or House Webcast portals).
