Florida Cabinet Meeting Recap: March 7, 2013

The Florida Cabinet met today, March 7, 2013, to consider various governmental agency agendas. 

State Board of Administration (“SBA”) Executive Director Ash Williams presented the SBA’s agenda items.  The Cabinet approved the December 11, 2012, and January 23, 2013, minutes.  Without any comments, Cabinet members also approved a draft letter to the Joint Legislative Auditing Committee certifying the Trustees have reviewed the Auditor General’s Annual Financial Audit of Florida Prime and approved the appointments of the Participant Local Government Advisory Council. 

Belinda Miller, Florida Office of Insurance Regulation (“OIR”) General Council, presented the OIR agenda items.  The minutes for the December 11, 2012 meeting were approved.  Without objection by the Cabinet, Ms. Miller withdrew the two remaining agenda items and asked that they be placed on the agenda for the next meeting.  These were approval of publication of proposed amendments to the following Rules:

• Proposed amendments to Rule 69O-137.001 would adopt the 2012 National Association of Insurance Commissioners (“NAIC”) Annual Statement Instructions Manual. 
• Proposed amendments to Rule 69O-138.001 would adopt the 2013 NAIC Financial Condition Examiners Handbook
