The Florida Legislature will hold its second round of Fall 2009 Interim Committee Meetings during the week of November 2-6.

Tuesday, November 3

 

Florida Senate Committee on Commerce

The Florida Senate Committee on Commerce will hold an interim meeting on Tuesday, November 3 from 1:00 p.m. through 3:00 p.m. in Room 401 of the Senate Office Building, The Capitol, Tallahassee.  The following economic development-related issues are scheduled to be discussed:

• Presentation by Florida Agency for Workforce Innovation Executive Director Cynthia Lorenzo
• Issue Brief 2010-307, Review of Space Florida’s Infrastructure Projects
• Presentation by Space Florida President Frank DiBello

Florida House Transportation and Economic Development Appropriations Committee

The Florida House Transportation and Economic Development Appropriations Committee (Full Appropriations Council on Education and Economic Development) will hold an interim meeting on Tuesday, November 3, from 1:00 p.m. through 5:00 p.m. in Room 17 of the House Office Building, The Capitol, Tallahassee.  The following economic development-related issues are scheduled to be discussed:

• Overview of Enterprise Florida, Inc. programs and budget
• Overview of Florida Film Commission programs and budget
• Schedule VIIIB Priority Listing of Agency Budget Issues for Possible Reduction for Legislative Budget Request Year 2010-2011:

The Florida House Economic Development Policy Committee (Economic Development and Community Affairs Policy Council) will hold an interim meeting on Wednesday, November 4, from 8:00 a.m. through 9:45 a.m. in Room 12 of the House Office Building, The Capitol, Tallahassee.  The following economic development-related issues are scheduled to be discussed:

• Presentation by Lucia Fishburne from the Governor’s Office of Film and Entertainment
• Presentation by Space Florida President Frank DiBello
• Workshop on the role and procedures of the Governor’s Office of Tourism, Trade and Economic Development and Enterprise Florida, Inc. in the award of economic development incentives and business recruitment

 

Florida House Economic Development and Community Affairs Policy Council

The Florida House Economic Development and Community Affairs Policy Council will hold an interim meeting on Wednesday, November 4, from 10:00 a.m. through Noon in Room 404 of the House Office Building, The Capitol, Tallahassee.  The following economic development-related issues are scheduled to be discussed:

• Presentation on Florida’s implementation of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 by Director of the Florida Office of Economic Recovery Don Winstead
• Presentations on the opportunities and challenges for Florida’s economy and businesses by:

The Florida Senate Committee on Transportation and Economic Development Appropriations will hold an interim meeting on Thursday, November 5, from 1:15 p.m. through 3:15 p.m. in Room 309 of the Capitol Building, Tallahassee.  The following economic development-related issues are scheduled to be discussed:

• Agency presentations of Schedule VIIIB Reduction Proposals for Fiscal Year 2010-2011
• Presentation on the Economic Benefits and Safety Issues Related to Alternative Road Paving Materials
