FEDC Inside Track For Legislative Affairs: House Speaker Orders Economic, Regulatory Reviews

In a December 16, 2008 letter to Florida House of Representatives Members, House Speaker Ray Sansom outlined economic recovery directives for the 2009 Legislative Session, among which include a comprehensive review of economic development stimulus initiatives, a thorough evaluation of workforce training enhancements, a systematic examination of Florida’s regulatory structure and a presentation on substantial changes designed to streamline Florida’s permitting processes.
In his letter, the Speaker directs the House Economic Development and Community Affairs Policy Council, along with the General Government Policy Council to accomplish various economic evaluations and reviews, and use the ” . . . talents and expertise of outside professionals and specialists . . . whenever necessary.”
