In advance of a day-long December 16, 2014 meeting, the Florida Commission on Hurricane Loss Projection Methodology (“FCHLPM”) published a working first draft of Actuarial Flood Standards.

The FCHLPM is scheduled to meet from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. to discuss hurricane loss model submissions received under its 2013 Standards and Acceptability Process, the deadline for which was November 1, 2014.

Once the FCHLPM’s regular business at the December 16 meeting concludes, its Flood Standards Development Committee will convene to discuss the General Flood Standards and the Meteorological/Hydrological Flood Standards, if time permits.

Enacted earlier this year, CS/CS/CS/SB 542 established parameters for the regulation of a private flood insurance market in Florida.  Among its provisions was a requirement for the FCHLPM to establish and adopt related standards.

The December 16 meeting will be held in Room 116 (Hermitage Conference Room), 1801 Hermitage Blvd., Tallahassee, Florida.  To participate via teleconference, dial (888) 670-3525 and enter conference code 7135858151.

Those opting to view the proceedings via Webinar must click here to register.  Please note that accompanying audio will only be available through the aforementioned teleconference number.
