The Florida Hurricane Catastrophe Fund (“FHCF”) Advisory Council will meet on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. in Tallahassee, Florida, to vote on October claims-paying capacity estimates. Teleconference attendance is also available.
Meeting materials, including the agenda and the draft claims-paying capacity estimate report, are attached.
According to the report, the FHCF’s estimated claims-paying capacity for the initial season is $21.240 billion, which is $4.240 billion above the total potential maximum claims-paying obligation of $17 billion.
The meeting agenda also includes an update from FHCF Chief Operating Officer Dr. Jack Nicholson and discussion of future legislative ideas.
The Florida Division of Emergency Management is expected to report on the Hurricane Loss Mitigation Program, a statewide grant plan funded annually by the Florida Legislature.
