DHSMV Form Updates For DUI Increased Financial Responsibility
Jan 16, 2008
Â
The Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (“DHSMVâ€) recently released additional information pertaining to implementation of House Bill 359, which increases financial responsibility requirements for DUI cases.
Due to programming issues in the DHSMV, the period of time for the replacement of an SR-22 with an FR-44 form is being advanced to be effective February 2, 2008.
For your review, we have attached a memo drafted by the DHSMV outlining the process that they will be following in reference to this issue, and a notice that the state will use to notify drivers convicted of DUI of the new financial responsibility requirements.
Should you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact this office.
