Crist to God at the Western Wall: “Please protect our Florida . . . “

JERUSALEM — Gov. Charlie Crist started his second day Wednesday in Israel with a tourist’s view of the Old City’s Jewish Quarter — a tourist protected with heavy security, that is, including Israeli border guards sporting M4 automatic rifles.
At the famed Western Wall, Crist left a traditional prayer on official’s Governor’s Office card stock, asking God: “Please protect our Florida from storms and other difficulties. Amen.”
Some advice from friend and tour organizer U.S. Rep. Robert Wexler, D-Delray Beach, as they approached the limestone wall whose crevices are crammed with chits of paper: “Just don’t take someone else’s out to stick yours in.”
