CORRECTION: This hearing will be held tomorrow, May 30, not today, May 29, as previously reported.
The Florida Office of Insurance Regulation will hold a public rate hearing Thursday, May 30, 2013, to discuss Fidelity National Property and Casualty Insurance Company’s (“Fidelity”) proposed rate increase for its homeowners line of insurance.
Fidelity has requested an average statewide increase of 28.1 percent for its homeowners program, effective August 1, 2013 for new business and September 25, 2013 for renewal business. The requested rate change is not uniform and some areas would be subject to higher rates.
Florida Insurance Consumer Advocate Robin Westcott will make a presentation at tomorrow’s hearing, which will take place at 9:00 a.m. in Room 116 of the Larson Building at 200 East Gaines Street in Tallahassee, Florida.
