Condo Loss Assessment Coverage Bill Passes House Criminal and Civil Justice Committee
Mar 25, 2009
CS/CS/CS/HB 419 relating to Condominiums by the House Insurance, Business and Financial Affairs Policy Committee passed the House Criminal and Civil Justice Policy Council on Tuesday, March 24, 2009, by 11(Y)-1(N). The bill, which passed with an amendment by State Representative Sandy Adams, would amend Florida laws relating to condominium unit owners’ loss assessment coverage.
Of the two amendments by Representative Adams that were passed onto the bill, only one was insurance-related and would require minimum coverage on a condominium unit owners’ policy of $2,000 per occurrence for an assessment made by the condominium association resulting from a covered loss.
