Jul 16, 2009
The National Association of Insurance Commissioners (“NAIC”) Professional Employer Organizations (“PEO”) Model Law Working Group has extended the deadline for comments on the draft Implementation Commentary entitled “Guidelines for Regulations and Legislation on Workers’ Compensation Coverage for Professional Employer Organization Arrangements.” Comments are due no later than Friday, July 31, 2009, and may be sent to Bob Wake at Robert.A.Wake@maine.gov, with a copy to Bob Card at bcard@naic.org.
The purpose of the Implementation Commentary is to assist states, PEOs and the insurance industry in implementing a regulatory framework consistent with the Guidelines for Regulations and Legislation on Workers’ Compensation Coverage for Professional Employer Organization Arrangements (“PEO Guidelines”) that were adopted by the NAIC in 2007.
The Implementation Commentary includes Appendix B for review and comment, as well as a complete copy of the PEO Guidelines for comparison. To view the Implementation Commentary, click here.
