Colodny Fass’ Nicole ‘Nikki’ Fried Sworn In to The Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division’s Board of Governors

Colodny Fass attorney Nicole “Nikki” Fried was sworn in as a member of The Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division’s Board of Governors (“Board”). More than 1,000 people attended the ceremony.
The Board is responsible for the general management and affairs of the Young Lawyers Division, which has more than 21,000 members, and for providing a program of activities and projects for its members. Ms. Fried was appointed by Board President Melanie S. Griffin.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to serve the Florida Bar and other young lawyers in this capacity,” Ms. Fried said. “It was also a privilege to be part of the swearing-in ceremony of fellow University of Florida graduate Eugene Pettis as the first African-American President of the Florida Bar.
As a member of Colodny Fass’ Governmental Consulting and Insurance Regulatory Divisions, Ms. Fried works closely with regulators and lawmakers throughout the country on behalf of the Firm’s many insurance clients.
Nominated by her peers for inclusion in the 2009 and 2010 Florida Super Lawyers magazine as a “Rising Star,” Ms. Fried is admitted to practice in Florida state courts and in the Middle and Southern U.S. District Courts.
Ms. Fried has an integral role in the planning and execution of the annual State of the Florida Insurance Market Summit, co-hosted by Colodny Fass& Webb and attended by more than 500 insurance regulators, legislators and industry executives from around the country.
Experienced in complex commercial litigation, Ms. Fried managed a foreclosure defense litigation department as Senior Litigation Associate for another major law firm.
She formerly served the Eighth Circuit Court Public Defender’s Office, where she managed a large felony and misdemeanor caseload and chaired more than 20 jury trials. Subsequently, she was promoted there to Felony Division Chair, a position that entailed supervising colleagues’ case management.
A graduate of University of Florida Levin College of Law and former Student Body President, Ms. Fried also earned her Master of Arts and Bachelor of Arts in Political Campaigning from the University of Florida.
