Colodny Fass’ Nicole “Nikki” Fried Serves as Program Co-Chair for Basic Trial Practice 2013 Seminar

Colodny Fass attorney Nicole “Nikki” Fried served as Program Co-Chair for the Basic Trial Practice 2013 Seminar in Tampa on October 25, 2013. This Seminar was co-hosted by The Florida Bar Continuing Legal Education Committee and the Young Lawyers Division. Ms. Fried is a member of The Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division’s Board of Governors.
The day-long seminar included a litigation overview, as well as discussions on jury selection, discovery, witness examinations, opening statements and closing arguments. The Hon. Mark I. Shames and the Hon. Michelle Sisco also presented “A View from the Bench: Judicial Tips For The Trial Attorney.”
As a member of Colodny Fass’ Governmental Consulting and Insurance Regulatory Divisions, Ms. Fried works closely with regulators and lawmakers throughout the country on behalf of the Firm’s many insurance clients.
Nominated by her peers for inclusion in the 2009 and 2010 Florida Super Lawyers Magazine as a “Rising Star,” Ms. Fried is admitted to practice in Florida state courts and in the Middle and Southern U.S. District Courts.
Ms. Fried has an integral role in the planning and execution of the annual State of the Florida Insurance Market Summit, co-hosted by Colodny Fass and attended by more than 650 insurance regulators, legislators and industry executives from around the country.
Experienced in complex commercial litigation, Ms. Fried managed a foreclosure defense litigation department as Senior Litigation Associate for another major law firm.
She formerly served the Eighth Circuit Court Public Defender’s Office, where she managed a large felony and misdemeanor caseload and chaired more than 20 jury trials. Subsequently, she was promoted there to Felony Division Chair, a position that entailed supervising colleagues’ case management.
A graduate of the University of Florida Levin College of Law and former Student Body President, Ms. Fried also earned her Master of Arts and Bachelor of Arts in Political Campaigning from the University of Florida.
