The law and governmental consulting firm of Colodny Fass will be honored for its long-time support of The Women’s Breast Health Initiative at the grassroots breast health awareness organization’s Fourth Annual “Open the Door” Reception on March 18, 2011.

With efforts spearheaded by Colodny Fass Shareholder Maria Elena Abate, a founding Board member of The Women’s Breast Health Initiative (formerly known as the “Florida Breast Health Initiative”), the Firm has marshaled volunteers and fundraised, as well as provided financial support, legal counsel and marketing services to help grow the grassroots organization to the size and scope at which it now stands today.

“Maria Abate, together with her fellow attorneys and staff of Colodny Fass, exemplify the potential that’s present every one of our corporate and donor partnerships,” explained Andrea Ivory, President and Executive Director of The Women’s Breast Health Initiative.   “Colodny Fass’s philosophy of hard work and determination is a driving force that motivates us to keep our own mission strong and focused.”

The March 18 “Open the Door” reception typically draws a cross-cultural gathering of nearly 300 supporters, who celebrate by meeting women whose lives have been saved by The Women’s Breast Health Initiative, together with the volunteers who help to educate them.  The event, which takes place at Shula’s Hotel and Golf Club in Miami Lakes, begins at 6 p.m.  Tickets are $75 per person.

Proceeds from the 2011 “Open the Door” reception will help fund The Women’s Breast Health Initiative’s continued efforts toward outreach to educate low-income women about the importance of breast health and also provide the resources to combat the disease.

The Women’s Breast Health Initiative provides free breast health awareness, education, screening and referrals to uninsured and underserved individuals through neighborhood door-to-door outreach.
