Scott Counsel: McCarty Extension Requires Cabinet Approval
Florida Insurance Commissioner Kevin McCarty cannot stay in his post beyond May 2, unless the extension is approved by Governor Rick Scott, Chief Financial Officer Jeff Atwater and at least one other member of the Florida Cabinet, according to a memo from the governor’s top legal adviser.

FEMA: New Palm Beach County Flood Maps Should Be In Effect by Spring 2017
New flood insurance maps for Palm Beach County should be in place by March 2017, capping a long battle to shield tens of thousands of property owners from being placed in high-risk, high-premium flood zones, the Sun-Sentinel’s Ron Hurtibise reports.
