SB 846 relating to Property Insurance by Senator Mike Fasano

SB 846 would define the term “claim-related document” and require an insurer to disclose certain information relating to policy coverage to a claimant.  Under the provisions of the bill, the claimant may request and obtain all claim-related documents, and be advised on whether there are any time requirements that would result in an insurer denying a claim.  An extension of the period of coverage for additional living expenses resulting from a state of emergency would be provided.  Effective Date: July 1, 2012
