Florida Office of Insurance Regulation Announces Long-Term Care Public Rate Hearings

The Florida Office of Insurance Regulation will conduct two Public Hearings to receive public comment on the proposed statewide Average Rate Increases for specific Long-Term Care Insurance Products sold by Metropolitan Life Insurance Company and Unum Life Insurance Company of America.

 

National Council on Compensation Insurance Public Rate Hearing Scheduled

The Florida Office of Insurance Regulation will conduct a Public Hearing to discuss the NCCI Rate Filing which proposes a rate increase for the Workers’ Compensation Line of Insurance as a result of three recent legal changes.

Premium Increases Won’t Prevent State of Florida Group Plan From Operating Deficit This Year

Premiums for the State Group Health Insurance Plans will increase by $88.5 million in January but expenses are still projected to outweigh revenues by $51.3 million, according to a document prepared by the State Division of State Group Insurance.  Christine Sexton reports for Politico Florida.

  

California Insurance Commissioner:  State Farm Consumer Watchdog News Release Misleading

The Consumer Watchdog news release falsely stated that a Judge made a decision “Ordering the Company [State Farm] to refund Policyholders at least $85 million for Overcharges” and “ordered that going forward, State Farm must decrease its Homeowners Insurance Rates by 7.0 percent,” California Insurance Commissioner Dave Jones said.
