14 Arrested in Miami Assisted Living Facility Insurance Fraud Scheme
A year-long Investigation led by Insurance Fraud Investigators with the Florida Department of Financial Services has ended with 14 Arrests of Assisted Living Facility Owners in the Miami Area, according to a Statement by Chief Financial Officer Jeff Atwater. Insurance Journal reports.
Florida Supreme Court Rejects Massive Expansion of Slot Machines
In a Major Defeat for Counties that wanted to Authorize Slot Machines by Referendum, the Florida Supreme Court on Thursday Unanimously Ruled that Florida Counties have no Legal Authority to ask Voters to Approve Slot Machines at existing Pari-Mutuel Race Tracks or Jai-Alai Frontons without Constitutional or Legislative Approval.
