    Scott releases records on possible replacement insurance chief

    Documents released this week by Governor Rick Scott’s office in response to a records request from The Palm Beach Post include the resume of a Louisiana regulator the Scott administration approached as a possible replacement for Florida’s insurance commissioner.  Charles Elmore reports in the “Post on Politics” blog.

     

    Florida’s Federated National Holding Company To Announce 2014 Year-End Results

    Federated National Holding Company, a Florida-based provider of insurance, today announced that it will release its 2014 yearend financial results at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 26, 2015.  The investor conference call will be held on Friday, February 27, 2015, at 9:00 a.m.

     

    Hollywood keeping red-light cameras until court orders them removed

    Less than two weeks ago, the 4th District Court of Appeal in West Palm Beach declined to rehear an October ruling that found the City of Hollywood could not delegate ticket-writing duties to third-party vendor American Traffic Solutions.  The ruling applies not only to Hollywood, but statewide.  The Sun-Sentinel’s Susannah Bryan reports.

     

    Miami-Dade Police Take To The Streets To Battle Insurance Fraud

    Authorities in Hialeah, Hialeah Gardens, and Medley took to the streets on Thursday in search of drivers using  fake insurance cards.  Maggie Newland reports for CBS-4 Miami.
