OIR Rule Hearing–Mitigation Inspection Forms
On Monday, December 21, 2009, the Florida Financial Services Commission, Office of Insurance Regulation (“OIR”) held a Hearing on proposed amendments to Rule 69O-170.0155 regarding insurance premium discounts for hurricane loss mitigation forms. The amendments would revise Form OIR-B1-1655, entitled “Notice of Premium Discounts for Hurricane Loss Mitigation” and Form OIR-B1-1802, entitled “Uniform Mitigation Verification Inspection Form.”

NAIC Life Insurance and Annuities Committee Meeting

DFS Rule Hearing–Elevator Safety
To conform to law passed in 2006, the Florida Department of Financial Services (“DFS”), Division of State Fire Marshal will consider proposed Rules to extend the compliance date of Section 399.15, Florida Statutes (also known as Florida’s “Elevator Safety Act”) to October 1, 2009. Passed in 2001, the Elevator Safety Act requires that, in fire emergency situations, certain building elevators within each of Florida’s seven emergency response regions must operate with one master elevator key.
The proposed Rules to be considered are:

- 69A-47.014: Compliance Dates
If a Rule Hearing is requested in writing and not deemed unnecessary by the agency head, one will be held at the date, time, and place shown below:
