The School Board of Broward County issued the following news release on August 31, 2011:
BCPS Schedules Two More School Boundary Community Orientation Meetings
Broward County Public Schools has scheduled two additional School Boundary Community Orientation meetings for those who were unable to attend one of the four earlier meetings held in May and June at Boyd Anderson, Western and McArthur high schools. The same materials are being discussed at all orientation meetings.
Both School Boundary Orientation meetings will be held from 6:30 – 7 p.m., or until the completion of the meeting. Dates and locations are listed below.
- Tuesday, September 6 – Coconut Creek High School (auditorium), 1400 NW 44th Ave., Coconut Creek
- Wednesday, September 14 – Western High School (auditorium), 1200 SW 136th Ave., Davie
At the orientation meetings, hosted by the District’s School Boundaries Department, potential middle and high school boundary changes for the 2012/13 school year will be discussed. Falcon Cove Middle School and Flanagan High School are anticipated to require boundary changes due to over enrollment potentially impacting future school attendance areas. Meetings are being held for all communities regarding potential boundary changes.
At this time, there are no Superintendent initial boundary recommendations. Community members are encouraged to provide input into the school boundary process.
