Auto Insurers Must E-File SR22/SR26 Forms By June 30, 2009
Mar 2, 2009
At an October, 2008 Insurance Industry Committee on Motor Vehicle Administration (“IICMVA”) meeting, it was confirmed by the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (“FDHSMV”) that all property and casualty and fire companies authorized to issue motor vehicle insurance policies in the State of Florida effect their conversion to filing electronic SR22/26 documents no later than June 30, 2009.
The February 27, 2009 FDHSMV Advisory Bulletin on the matter is attached for your review.
As of June 30, all insurance companies with 1,000 policies or more must be ready to begin electronic reporting of all SR22/SR26s and FR44/FR46s via File Transfer Protocol (FTP).
Insurance companies with less than 1,000 policies may continue to file the paper formats.
