Arizona Department of Insurance Announces Business Operations Survey Results

The Arizona Department of Insurance announced on May 5, 2016 that the results are in from its recent “Operating at the Speed of Business” Survey:

• We need to make information easier to find on some parts of our web site.  If you would like to participate in a couple meetings, either in person or by phone, or if you just want to send specific ideas on how we can better organize information on our web site, send an e-mail to Assistant Director Scott Greenberg at sgreenberg@azinsurance.gov.  Tell us the information you have difficulty finding and any ideas on how we can make it easier to find.
• We need to make some of our licensing processes faster and we need to allow additional types of applications to be submitted online.  We have made substantial improvements to our speed in processing many types of insurance professional licensing.  We currently have a breakthrough project in the works for improving our life and health administrator registration process and part of that project will create an online application submission process for a variety of types of licenses for which NIPR (www.nipr.com) is not available. We will be expanding what we learn from the administrator registration breakthrough project to other licensing functions, making them more efficient and speedier.
• We need to review insurance product filings (forms and rates) faster.  We are currently have a breakthrough project focused on property and casualty form filings requiring approval, with an objective of reducing the time to approve a filing from 17 days to 8.5 days by October 2016.  Once we complete this project, we will be expanding what we learn to all types of form, rate and advertising filings that require the Department’s approval.
